Lisbon is drawn the way Ruben Atayan draws every city he visits on foot: rooftop by rooftop, block by block, from a bird's-eye perspective built up over weeks of walking and sketching. This fragment follows the strict grid of the Baixa Pombalina — laid out after the 1755 earthquake — down through the Arco da Rua Augusta triumphal arch to the checkerboard paving of Praça do Comércio, where the city has opened onto the Tagus for centuries. Rendered without color, the black-and-white edition strips the map back to pure architectural line, letting Lisbon's rebuilt geometry carry the piece.
